DR. NEEDLEMAN HONORED
CRIME TIMES congratulates Herbert Needleman, M.D., a member of our Professional
Advisory Board, on his selection as a 1995 recipient of the Heinz Award. The $250,000
award was established in 1994 by Teresa Heinz to honor her late husband, Senator John
Heinz. It is given, Heinz says, to individuals who "embody all that is best about the
American spirit."
Dr. Needleman received the award for Environment, in recognition of his extensive
efforts to reduce environmental lead contamination.
In presenting the award, Heinz said that "Dr. Needleman is the unsung hero behind
one of the greatest environmental health gains of modern times."
