QUOTABLE: Todd Ackerman
"More than 5 percent of American adults have a serious mental illness-
half are between the ages of 25 and 44-and most everyone agrees that
traditional psychotherapy's ministrations have failed. According to the
most recent statistics, mental illness' total estimated economic cost to
American society is more than $200 billion a year, and growing. Other
costs, such as reduced quality of life, torn families and loss of life, cannot
be calculated."
Todd Ackerman, Houston Chronicle, March 10, 2002
